My Rose Colored Glasses God's Vision is Best

My Rose-Colored Glasses

As for God, His way is perfect! The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.

Psalm 18:30 AMPC

Today, I did a little research on how to get on a best-seller list. I felt intrigued recently when I noticed that listed on someone’s book description. I wish I could say I was just curious. But honestly, I was impressed. And that was where the enemy began to mess with my mind.

I imagine everyone likes to hear that they are doing a good job from time-to-time. I have endured painful professional rejection emails, and it is no fun! It is much preferable to hear, “You are awesome! Your work is the best! We want more!” But today, as I researched how to acquire “best-seller” status and read the requirements for being on several lists, it occurred to me that pride was the root of my search. That could not be my goal. That kind of pride is from the enemy, and the icky feeling in my gut as I read revealed the source. The enemy’s only objectives are to steal, kill, and destroy the plans of God for us. But God is greater and His ways bring peace!

Rose-Colored Glasses

I don’t want to live life looking through rose-colored glasses, imagining things apart from His plan for me. My focus has to be what God is calling me to do, and I cannot let the enemy distract me with self-promotion. I could work to attain something people view as good. Alternatively, I could obey God’s direction and work what He commanded me to do and achieve His plans. His way is perfect!

There’s a common phrase, “Good things come to those who wait.” I propose that perfect things come to those who wait on God and move when He commands! We need to tune in to His voice and tune out the voice of the enemy. God will open the right doors for us to walk through when we obey His voice.

I want to encourage you today to listen for God’s voice and walk as He directs. Don’t waste time like I did this morning, learning how to acquire something that man honors. It is better to do things His way and trust that as we follow His commands, He will place us where we need to be exactly when we need to be there!

Keep before you the vision He has given you. Take off those rose-colored glasses. His vision for your life is greater than you could possibly imagine. As you move at His command, His perfect way will unfold. You can trust Him.

We want more!
